FAQ
What else do I need to book when using the jib?
You will need to book a camera, base plate/sliding plate, appropriate lenses, batteries or mains power for the camera and jib.
The jib does come with batteries but it is advisable to have mains power wherever possible.

How long does the jib take to rig?
This will depend on the length of crane required and the ease of load in. We usually allow 2 hours to rig, but may need more for a less accessible site or where kit boxes need to be hand carried over distance.
What length crane will i need?
Although it's good to have an idea what shots are required from the jib and a loose idea what length you might prefer, we are more than happy to recce, advise from experience or suggest before we rig, having looked at the options and the shots required.
how many crew come with the jib?
The jib comes with an operator and an experienced technician.
can the jib be used outside in any weather?
The Jib can be used outside in almost any weather, thanks to wet weather covers provided, as long as it can be rigged relatively dry (under an easy up or gazebo).
how will the jib arrive?
The jib arrives in several boxes in a van. The van will ultimately need an allocated parking space and easy access to as close to the proposed siting of the jib as possible thus speeding up the rig. We're happy to park the van off site but this will result in a longer rig time.
what power does the jib take?
We can run on 16amp or 13amp.
The jib can run on batteries but only for short periods of time. If this is the case, prior warning is necessary to make sure batteries are charged and available.

how far can we move the jib between shots?
The jib comes on different types of base for different terrains, although any movement should be kept to a minimum on rough terrain (mud, sand, snow or undulating ground).
We are more than happy to move on regular tarmac. We are able to 'split' the crane and reassemble from site to site. For multiple sites within one location a recce would always be advised.
